Manchester School District Joins ConVal’s Education Funding Lawsuit
“I have long thought that the lack of investment in our school district was due to the tax cap. While part of the problem can be assigned to the revenue portion of the tax cap, the much larger problem I have come to realize is the inequitable distribution of education funding coming from the State. New Hampshire has one of the most regressive education funding formulas in the entire country. This lack of equitable funding shifts the burden of funding education on to the local taxpayer. It needs to stop! It is my hope that the court will find a solution where state legislators and governors have not been able or willing to do so." – Leslie Want

Manchester School Board OKs Plan for Non-voting Student Representatives
"One of my proudest achievements as a board member was to add a student member to the board! Actually, this student board “member” is made up of a congress of 8 students that duly elected by their student bodies - two from each of the four high schools. They give us an critical insight into what students need and think is important. They make us a better board.” – Leslie Want
